Buying music online is not the way

After buying my first song on itunes, I have come to realize that it's in a lousy format that works no where but ipod.

No one online will sell you a song in the mp3 format. They will sell you in M4p format or WMA format, but not mp3.

So now if I want to buy music online I must do the following, because Microsoft and Apple think we are idiots. I just play the song on my computer and capture the song into Adobe Audition. It records anything played on my computer. Then I save it as an MP3.

or you can have microsoft media player burn it for you and then turn around and rip them off the CDs into mp3s using itunes. Of course then you find out that when you burn in media player they purposely lower the quality going to your burned CD so it is only 70% of the wma file's quality. So that is useless.

Or you can have itunes burn their m4p format into cd and then have itunes rip the cd into mp3s.

how utterly stupid are these companies. You can also buy a program for $20 that will convert any format to any format.

do they think the extra step will keep us from making them mp3s? YES then do.

don't they know that I would buy all my music in mp3 format if they made it available. NO they don't.

are they preventing sales from happening because of failing Digital Rights Management? YES they are.

it the whole thing stupid and will the movie industry be next to do the same thing incorrectly? YES they will.

is it easier to steal the music? WAY easier, but I promised the man upstairs that if I didn't steal music he would make sure my 6 year old boy behaved in school. So far my son has been amazing in Kindergarten and I have paid for all my music.

I just buy my songs the old fashion way; at the store!
